NYC based creative and cultural instigator, Leah McSweeney is the creative director and founder of the women’s streetwear brand, Married to the Mob. In 2008, the emergence of a female-led streetwear movement started happening in NYC, specifically in the Lower East Side. MOB, as the brand is known around the world, was a leader, and Leah was the creative mind behind the project. Inspired by the fashion brand, Chanel, the MOB Dunk was one of the first female-only collaboration at Nike. Years ahead of its time, this project pushed materials and storytelling on an iconic basketball shoe, to make it street ready for NYC.
